Alessandro Vadalà

Ph.D. candidate in Cosmology

Hello! I am Alessandro Vadalà, a Ph.D. candidate in the Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Science doctoral program at the Observatory of Rome (INAF). My research focuses on the study of weak lensing higher-order statistics in the Euclid survey. During my Ph.D. I mainly studied the possibility of applying higher-order statistics to modified gravity theories, to better constrain cosmological and modified gravity parameters

Research

Higher-order weak lensing statistics (HOWLS)

Keywords: Weak Lensing, Cosmology, Statistics

Developing theory code to validate higher-order statistics in weak lensing data from the Euclid survey. I focused on convergence statistics, with particular attentions to higher-order moments and topological statistics. I also work on numerical methods to fasten the computation

Dark energy and modified gravity

Keywords: Dark Energy, Modified Gravity, Cosmology

I worked on modified gravity theory, focusing on the phenomenology of f(R), nDGP, and in general Horndeski models, investigating possible signatures in weak lensing and CMB observables, to improve constraints on cosmological and modified gravity parameters
